Okay, so I’ve been trying out this new thing for my cat, Mittens. It’s called Redbarn Protein Puffs, and I thought I’d share how it went. I saw these at the pet store the other day and figured, why not? Mittens is usually game for new treats, so I grabbed a bag.
Getting Started
First off, these things are tiny. Like, really tiny. They’re crunchy little puffs, and the bag says they’re packed with protein, which sounds good, right? I mean, cats are all about that protein. The ingredients seemed okay, nothing too weird in there. I got the chicken flavor ’cause, well, Mittens digs chicken.
The Taste Test
So, I opened the bag, and the smell wasn’t too strong, which is a plus for me. I poured a few into my hand, and they felt pretty light. I offered one to Mittens, and she sniffed it for a second, then went for it. She crunched it down pretty quick, so I gave her another. And another. She seemed to really like them! I was actually surprised because she can be a bit picky sometimes.
Watching Her Enjoy
- Crunch Factor: She definitely enjoyed the crunchiness. I could hear her munching away, and she seemed to be having a good time.
- Portion Size: Since they’re so small, I felt okay giving her a few. It’s easy to control how many she gets.
- Energy Levels: I did notice she seemed a bit more playful after having these. Maybe it’s the protein, or maybe she was just happy to have a tasty treat.
After a Few Days
I’ve been giving her these puffs as a treat for a few days now, and she still gets excited when she sees the bag. No tummy issues or anything like that, which is always a concern with new treats. I like that they seem to be a healthier option compared to some of the other junk food-type treats out there.
My Thoughts
Honestly, I’m pretty happy with these Redbarn Protein Puffs. They’re a hit with Mittens, and I feel good about giving them to her. They’re small, crunchy, and seem to be a decent source of protein. Plus, they don’t stink up the place, which is a bonus for me. It seems like that I will continue using this to reward Mittens in the future.
I think if you’re looking for a new treat for your cat, these are worth a try. Just my two cents, based on my little experiment with Mittens. Every cat’s different, of course, but these worked out well for us!
