So, I’ve been meaning to switch up my cat’s food for a while now. He’s been on the same kibble for ages, and I figured it was time for a change. I heard about this brand called Wags, and it seemed like a good option – you know, good ingredients, decent price. I did some digging online, read some reviews, and decided to give it a shot.
First off, I ordered a small bag of Wags from a local pet store, just to see if my furry friend would even touch it. He’s a picky little guy, so I didn’t want to commit to a huge bag right away. When it arrived, I opened the bag and was hit with this… well, it wasn’t bad, but it was definitely a strong smell. Not like his old food, that’s for sure.
I mixed a bit of the Wags with his regular food, like a 25/75 ratio, just to ease him into it. He sniffed it cautiously, gave me a look that clearly said, “What is this sorcery?” But then, surprise, surprise, he actually started eating it! I was pretty stoked, not gonna lie.
- Day 1: 25% Wags, 75% old food – Success! He ate it all.
- Day 3: 50/50 mix – Still going strong. No tummy troubles.
- Day 5: 75% Wags, 25% old food – He’s basically a Wags convert now.
- Day 7: 100% Wags – We made it!
Over the next week, I gradually increased the amount of Wags and decreased the old food. He seemed to be digesting it fine, no weird poops or anything, which is always a plus. He actually seemed to have more energy, too. He was playing more, zooming around the house like a kitten again. It was pretty awesome to see.
Observations
His coat also started looking shinier, which is something I hadn’t even thought about. I guess the better ingredients in the Wags were making a difference. I’m no pet food expert, but it definitely seemed like a higher quality than his old stuff.
So, yeah, it’s been a few weeks now, and he’s fully transitioned to Wags. I feel good about the switch. He’s happy, healthy, and his poops are surprisingly less stinky. Who knew that was even a thing? Overall, I’d say giving Wags a try was a solid decision. It’s a win-win – he gets better food, and I get a more energetic and cuddly cat. What more could you ask for?
