Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to jazz up my apartment a bit, and since I have two adorable fur-balls, I thought, why not combine home decor with something practical for them? That’s how I stumbled upon this whole “cat litter box tree” idea. It’s basically a litter box enclosure that looks like a piece of furniture, maybe even with a fake plant on top. Sounds neat, right?
First off, I started hunting for the perfect enclosure. There are a bunch of options out there, but since my boys, Tom and Jerry are not exactly tiny, I needed something pretty spacious. Plus, I wanted it to be enclosed to keep the smell in check. I’m not a fan of my whole place smelling like a giant litter box, you know?
I browsed a lot of pet shops, even checked out some online stores, but most of them were either too small or just plain ugly. I mean, if it’s going to be in my living room, it has to look decent, at least. Then I hit this one. It looks like a small cabinet and it’s big enough for both Tom and Jerry.
Assembling the thing was the next step. I’m not the handiest person, but it wasn’t too bad. I just followed the instructions, got all the pieces together, and boom – we had a new litter box cabinet. It looks pretty good, I must say. It blends in with the other furniture, and you wouldn’t even guess it’s a litter box unless you knew.
Next up, the “tree” part. I grabbed a fake plant from a local store – nothing too fancy, just something green to put on top of the cabinet. It really does make a difference. Now, it looks even less like a litter box and more like a, well, a plant stand. My friends were actually surprised when I told them what it really was!

The final test was, of course, whether Tom and Jerry would use it. I put their old litter box inside the cabinet for a few days to get them used to the new setup. Then, I swapped it out for a fresh one, and they started using it no problem. Success!
It is a win-win.
Now, I’ve got a litter box that doesn’t stink up the place, my cats seem happy, and I have a new piece of furniture that actually looks pretty cool.
