Brainstorming Phase
I started by just looking at her. She’s such a beautiful creature, with these amazing spots and this sleek, wild look. I thought, “She needs a name that captures that exotic beauty.”
I grabbed a notebook and just started jotting down names. Anything that came to mind, really. Some were inspired by her appearance, like “Spot” or “Leopardess” – pretty obvious, I know. I even tried some names from nature, like “River” or “Forest,” but nothing really clicked.
Diving Deeper
Then, I decided to do some research online. I figured there must be tons of Bengal cat owners out there who’ve gone through the same thing. I found a few articles with lists of names, and some forums where people were sharing ideas.
I stumbled upon some interesting ones like “Noah,” which apparently means comfort and rest, and “Milo,” which is from a movie. They were okay, but not quite what I was looking for. I wanted something unique, something that really resonated with my kitty’s personality.
Considering Her Personality
Speaking of personality, I started paying more attention to how she behaves. She’s super playful and energetic, always zipping around the house. But she’s also really affectionate and loves to cuddle.
So, I added some names to my list that reflected those traits. “Zoomer” for her speed, “Snuggles” for her cuddly side. They were cute, but still not quite there.

Then, I remembered reading about names like “Umber” and “Copper.” They’re kind of artistic, referring to colors, and I thought that might be a cool direction to go in.
I played around with that idea for a bit, and then it hit me. My little girl has these gorgeous, warm brown tones in her fur, and her eyes are this amazing golden color. And that’s when I knew.
The Final Choice
I decided to name her “Amber.” It fits her perfectly! It captures her beauty, her warmth, and that little spark in her eyes. Plus, it’s not a super common name, so it feels unique to her.
It’s been a few weeks now, and “Amber” has really settled into her name. She responds to it, and it just feels right. Finding the perfect name was a bit of a process, but it was totally worth it. I love my little Amber!
