Okay, so my cat, Whiskers, is a super picky eater. I swear, that cat has a more refined palate than I do! I’ve been trying to find a food that she actually enjoys AND is good for her. I saw a bunch of people talking about Nulo Medal Series, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Here’s how it went down.

The Hunt for the Food
First, I had to actually FIND the stuff. My local pet store didn’t have it, so I went on a bit of a wild goose chase. Ended up finding it at a bigger store a little further away. Grabbed a bag of the chicken and cod recipe – seemed like something Whiskers might be into.
The First Impression
When I got home, I ripped open the bag. The kibble pieces were small, which is good for Whiskers, she sometimes has trouble with the bigger chunks. It didn’t smell super strong, which is a plus for me – I don’t want my whole apartment smelling like cat food.
The Whiskers Test
Okay, the moment of truth. I put some in Whiskers’ bowl. She sniffed it cautiously… you know how cats are, all dramatic. Then, she actually started eating it! And not just a few bites, she actually cleaned her bowl! I was shocked, honestly. She usually just picks at her food and then walks away.
The Following Days
- Day 1-3: Whiskers was still loving it. No upset stomach or anything, which is always a concern when switching foods.
- Day 4-7: Her energy levels seemed a bit better, maybe? She was playing a little more, chasing her toys. Could be the food, could be she was just in a good mood, hard to tell with cats!
- Week 2 and Beyond: Still going strong! Her coat looks a bit shinier, too. I think that’s what they say about good food, right? It shows in their fur.
My Verdict
So far, so good! I’m pretty happy with the Nulo Medal Series. It’s a bit pricier than some other brands, but seeing Whiskers actually enjoy her food and seem healthier is worth it to me. I’m gonna keep her on it for a while and see how it goes. I’ll probably try some of the other flavors, too, just to keep things interesting for her. If your cat is a picky eater, this might be worth a try!
