Okay, here’s my take on reviewing Ziwi Peak cat food, shared from my personal experience:

So, I’ve got this fluffy Persian, Mr. Snuggles, who’s pickier than a food critic at a Michelin-star restaurant. Seriously, this cat has turned his nose up at more foods than I can count. I was getting desperate to find something he’d actually eat consistently, and that was also good for him.
I started by, you know, hitting up Google. I was drowning in cat food options! Dry, wet, raw, grain-free, limited ingredient…it was overwhelming. I spent hours reading reviews, comparing ingredients, and basically getting a PhD in cat nutrition.
Then, I kept seeing this brand pop up: Ziwi Peak. It sounded fancy, and the price tag definitely reflected that! But, people were raving about it. I saw tons of reviews saying how much their cats loved it and how healthy it was, with some even saying it has greatly improved their cats overall condition. The ingredients list looked pretty impressive, too – lots of meat and organs, and not a lot of filler. It’s air-dried, which supposedly preserves more nutrients than regular kibble.
I decided to bite the bullet and order a small bag of the Ziwi Peak Venison recipe. I figured, worst-case scenario, Mr. Snuggles would hate it, and I’d be out a few bucks. But, I was hopeful.
The Moment of Truth
When the bag arrived, I ripped it open (okay, maybe I used scissors, I’m not that savage). The food looked…interesting. Kind of like little jerky squares. I put a small handful in Mr. Snuggles’ bowl, and braced myself for his usual inspection routine: sniff, lick, walk away dramatically.
But this time…he sniffed…and then he CHOWED DOWN! I couldn’t believe it. He actually ate it. And he kept eating it. He finished the whole serving!
The Results
It’s been about three months now, and Mr. Snuggles is still a Ziwi Peak fan. Here’s what I’ve noticed:
- He actually eats it! This is the biggest win, obviously.
- His coat is ridiculously soft. Like, even softer than before, which I didn’t think was possible.
- His energy levels seem better. He’s more playful and active.
- His poops are smaller and less smelly. (TMI? Maybe, but it’s a real benefit!)
The downside? It’s expensive. No getting around that. But honestly, seeing Mr. Snuggles happy and healthy makes it worth it for me. I’ve also noticed I actually feed him less of the Ziwi Peak than I did of his old food, because it’s so nutrient-dense. So, the bag lasts a bit longer than I expected.

So, that’s my Ziwi Peak experience. If you’ve got a picky cat, or you’re just looking for a high-quality food, I’d say it’s definitely worth considering. Just be prepared for the price tag!
