Okay, so let me tell you about my little adventure with Fromm cat food. It all started ’cause my cat, Whiskers, suddenly decided he was too good for the stuff I’d been feeding him for ages. Just turned his nose up. Sniffed it, walked away. Drove me absolutely bonkers.

I spent ages looking around. You know how it is, scrolling through stuff online, asking that one friend who thinks they know everything about pets. Someone mentioned Fromm. Never heard of it much before, sounded a bit posh, maybe?
Finding the Stuff
Turned out, it wasn’t at the big supermarket where I usually grab cat stuff. Had to track it down at one of those smaller, independent pet shops. Felt like I was on a quest. Found it, looked at the price, thought, “Oof, okay Whiskers, this better be worth it.” Grabbed a small bag, I think it was one of the chicken ones, maybe?
The Big Test
Got home, opened the bag. Smelled alright, kinda meaty. I did the whole mixing thing, you know, a little bit of the Fromm with his old food so it wouldn’t upset his stomach. First day? He picked around the new bits. Typical. Second day, same story. I was starting to get annoyed again.
Here’s the thing, though: this was right when work was absolutely insane. I was pulling late nights, stressed out, barely had energy to make my own dinner, let alone deal with a fussy cat. Coming home tired and seeing his full food bowl was just… another thing on the pile, you know? Felt like I couldn’t even get feeding the cat right.
Then, maybe day three or four? He actually ate it. Like, the whole bowl, Fromm bits and all. I swear I almost cheered. It felt like this massive weight lifted, which sounds stupid, ’cause it’s just cat food, but when you’re stressed, the small wins feel huge.
So, Was It Good?
Well, Whiskers kept eating it. We switched over completely after about a week. Here’s what I noticed:
- He definitely seemed to like the taste, less fussiness overall.
- His coat, maybe? Seemed a bit shinier after a month or two. Could be my imagination, could be the food.
- Energy levels were good, he was still the same little terror zooming around at 3 AM.
- Litter box situation was… normal. No complaints there, which is always a plus.
We tried a couple of their other recipes too, like the salmon one I think? He seemed keen on most of them. It became our go-to for a good long while. It worked for Whiskers, especially getting him eating properly again during that rough patch when I really didn’t have the headspace for more problems.
We actually still use it sometimes, rotate it with another brand now just for variety (and ’cause sometimes that little shop is closed when I need food!). But yeah, my experience? It was pretty positive. Got us through that picky phase, and Whiskers did well on it. So, for us, Fromm turned out to be a decent find.
