Okay, so, I got this new thing for my cat, right? It’s called a “tripod cat litter box,” and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey figuring this thing out.
First off, I ordered this thing online because, well, who goes to stores anymore? It arrived in this huge box, and I was like, “What did I get myself into?” Unboxing it was the first hurdle. There were so many parts! I laid everything out on the living room floor, and my cat, Mittens, she just sat there, judging me, as usual.
The instructions, oh boy, they were something. I swear they were written in a different language. But I muddled through. I started by connecting the base parts. That was surprisingly easy. It was all “click” and “snap,” you know? Like adult LEGOs.
Then came the tricky part – the legs. This thing has three legs, hence the “tripod” part. Getting them to attach and be stable was a bit of a challenge. I fiddled around, tightened some screws, and finally, they were on. It actually looked like a litter box, albeit a very modern, spaceship-looking one.
- Step 1: Unbox and lay out all the pieces. (Don’t forget to let your cat inspect everything.)
- Step 2: Assemble the base. It’s pretty straightforward, just follow the clicks.
- Step 3: Attach the legs. This might take some patience.
The next step was the hood. This litter box is enclosed, which is great for containing, uh, “aromas.” Putting the hood on was a bit like solving a puzzle. You have to align these tabs and slots, and then give it a good push. I managed to do it without breaking anything, which I consider a win.
Finally, I added the litter. I use that crystal stuff because it’s less dusty. Poured it in, and voila, the tripod cat litter box was ready for action. Mittens, she approached it cautiously, sniffed around, and then, after a moment of contemplation, she hopped in.
The Verdict
So, after a week of using this contraption, here’s what I think. It’s definitely more stylish than your average litter box. It keeps the mess contained, and the smell is noticeably reduced. Mittens seems to like it, too, which is the most important thing. I will keep using it to see if it can be better.
Would I recommend it? Yeah, I think so. Just be prepared for a bit of an assembly adventure. And maybe have a glass of wine ready for when you’re done. You’ve earned it! It’s really a good idea for every photographer.
