Cool Halloween Names for Cats: Spooky and Fun Ideas for Your Feline Friend!

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and with Halloween just around the corner, I figured now’s the perfect time to dive in. I’m talking about Halloween names for cats. Yeah, it might sound a bit silly, but hey, why not have some fun with it? I have two cats myself, and I always love coming up with fun names for them.

So I started by just jotting down any words that came to my mind when I think of Halloween. You know, the usual stuff like “spooky,” “pumpkin,” “witch,” and so on. Just a simple brainstorm, nothing fancy. Then I started thinking of famous characters from Halloween movies or books. I wrote down names like “Ichabod” (from Sleepy Hollow, of course), “Winifred” (Sanderson, anyone?), and even “Elvira.”

My Brainstorm List

Here’s a bit of what I came up with during my initial brainstorm:

  • Spooky
  • Pumpkin
  • Witch
  • Ghost
  • Goblin
  • Shadow
  • Midnight
  • Salem
  • Broomstick
  • Candy Corn – Okay, this one’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s cute, right?

Iconic Character Brainstorm

Then I moved on to some character names:

  • Ichabod
  • Winifred
  • Elvira
  • Casper
  • Dracula
  • Frankenstein – Or maybe just “Frankie” for short?
  • Sabrina
  • Binx – Hocus Pocus, anyone?

After I had my list, I started playing around with them, saying them out loud, seeing if any of them felt right for a cat. I mean, you can’t just give a cat any old name, right? It has to have the right vibe. I also considered my cats’ personalities. One’s a bit mischievous, so I thought a name like “Goblin” might suit him. The other is super chill, so maybe something like “Casper” would be a good fit.

Honestly, I spent a good couple of hours on this. I even started looking up the meanings behind some of the names, just for kicks. Like, did you know that “Ichabod” means “inglorious”? Makes you think, doesn’t it?

I haven’t made any final decisions yet, still trying out a few names, seeing which ones stick. But it’s been a fun little project. It’s a nice break from the usual routine, you know? Plus, it gets me even more excited for Halloween. I’ll keep you guys posted on what I finally decide. Maybe I’ll even share some pics of my cats with their new Halloween names!
