Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this whole thing with shaving my cat. First off, I noticed my fluffy buddy, Mr. Whiskers, was shedding like crazy. I mean, there was fur everywhere – on the couch, on my clothes, even in my coffee once! That’s when I thought, “Maybe it’s time for a little trim.”

Next, I had to figure out the cost. I called up a few places to get some quotes. One place said they’d do it for around $50, another was a bit more at $70, and then there was this fancy-schmancy pet spa that wanted $100! I mean, $100 to shave a cat? That seemed a bit steep, even if they did offer a complimentary pawdicure.

After thinking it over, I decided to go with the $50 place. It seemed like a good balance between cost and quality. I made an appointment, and the day finally came. I packed Mr. Whiskers into his carrier (which he hates, by the way), and off we went.
When we got there, the groomer was super nice. She took Mr. Whiskers to the back, and I waited in the lobby, flipping through some old magazines. About 30 minutes later, she came back out with a freshly shaved, and slightly grumpy, Mr. Whiskers.
Honestly, he looked a bit funny at first, like a little lion with his fluffy head and tail. But, the shedding definitely improved, and he seemed a lot more comfortable, especially with the summer heat coming up.
The Result
So, in the end, it cost me $50 to get my cat shaved. It was definitely worth it to get it done professionally. I wouldn’t want to risk hurting him with my clumsy clipping skills. Plus, the shedding is way down, and Mr. Whiskers seems happier overall. And that’s all that really matters, right?
