Is Sheba Cat Food Good for Cats? Lets Look at the Ingredients and Find Out!

Okay, so I’ve been on this whole journey to figure out what’s the best food for my two furballs, right? They were on some Purina dry food and Sheba perfect portions, but I wanted to do a little experiment with their diet.

Is Sheba Cat Food Good for Cats? Lets Look at the Ingredients and Find Out!

First off, I noticed Sheba is all about that wet food life. Cool, cats need that hydration. And let me tell you, it’s pretty easy on the wallet, which is a huge plus for me. You can get it in so many flavors, too. My cats are kinda picky, so having options is awesome.

I started digging around, doing my research. Turns out, Sheba is made by this big company, Mars. They make a bunch of other pet food brands, too, like Whiskas and Royal Canin. Good to know they’re not some small, fly-by-night operation.

Then I checked if Sheba ever had any recalls. Nope, nothing! That’s a relief. But Mars has had recalls on some of their other brands, so I guess it’s not a perfect record. Still, no recalls for Sheba is a good sign.

Most of Sheba’s food is made in the US, but some of it comes from Thailand and Austria. I guess that’s just how it is these days, everything is global. Anyway, I contacted their customer service, and they told me that most of their ingredients are sourced locally.

I decided to give it a go. I kept my cats on the Sheba wet food and switched their dry food to this Wellness brand I heard good things about.

Here’s how it went down:

  • Week 1: The cats were totally into the Sheba. They licked their bowls clean every time. No problems with the transition.
  • Week 2: Still going strong. Their energy levels seemed normal, maybe even a bit better. Poop was looking good, too. No weird smells or anything.
  • Week 3: Noticed their fur was getting a bit softer. Nice! Still happy with the wet food, but one of my cats wasn’t super thrilled with the Wellness dry food.
  • Week 4: Okay, decided to stick with Sheba for the wet food. It’s affordable, the cats like it, and it seems to be agreeing with them. I might try a different dry food later, but for now, we’re good.

So, yeah, that’s my little experiment with Sheba cat food. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a decent, budget-friendly option, and my cats seem to be thriving on it. Of course, every cat is different, but for my two furballs, Sheba gets a thumbs up!
