Okay, so I’ve been meaning to switch up my cat’s food for a while now. She’s been getting a little… chunky, and I figured it was time to try something new. I kept seeing ads for “Untamed” cat food, the one that’s supposed to be all-natural and super healthy. So, I decided to give it a shot and, you know, document the whole thing.
The Hunt Begins
First, I had to actually find the stuff. I looked online for shops, and it seemed pretty straightforward. I picked the “complete” variety pack, just to see what my cat, Mittens, would actually eat. I didn’t want to commit to a giant bag of something she’d turn her nose up at. You know how cats are.
The Arrival and First Impressions
The package arrived pretty quickly, which was nice. It was all neatly packed, and the cans looked… fancy? I guess? They definitely looked different from the usual grocery store stuff. I popped open a can of the chicken in gravy flavor – figured that was a safe bet to start with.
- Smell: Honestly, it didn’t smell that bad. Kind of like… actual chicken? Not that weird, artificial, cat-food smell.
- Texture: It looked like real, shredded chicken. Not that mushy, pate stuff.
Mittens’ Verdict
This is the important part, right? I put the bowl down, and Mittens came running, like always. She’s a piglet. She sniffed it for a second, then dug in. And… she ate it all! I was shocked. Usually, she’s so picky. She’ll eat a little bit, then wander off and come back later. Not this time. Clean bowl.
The Following Weeks
I cycled through the different flavors – chicken with duck, tuna, salmon, even one with ham (which I thought was weird, but hey, she liked it). She consistently cleaned her bowl. No fuss, no leftover bits. I also noticed her fur started to look a little shinier. Maybe it’s just me, but it definitely seemed healthier.
The only minor issue I had, and it wasn’t really a fault with the food was I had to find somewhere that sells it locally, my local pet supply stores don’t stock it.
The Final Meow (For Now)
So far, so good. Mittens seems to be thriving on Untamed. She’s eating well, looks healthier, and even seems a bit more energetic (which means more 3 AM zoomies, but I’ll take it). I’m definitely going to keep her on it for a while and see how it goes long-term. If anything changes, I’ll be sure to update, but right now, I’m giving Untamed two paws up!
