Okay, so I’ve been meaning to switch up my cat’s food for a while now. Picky little furball, you know? I kept seeing “Wellness” brand pop up, especially their canned food, so I figured, “Why not?” Here’s how it all went down.

The Shopping Trip
First, I headed to the pet store. Wow, so many choices! I spent a good 20 minutes just staring at the shelves. I grabbed a few different Wellness flavors – chicken, turkey, salmon… the usual suspects. I also made sure to check the ingredients. I’m not a nutritionist, but I tried to avoid anything with tons of “by-products” or weird fillers.
The Taste Test (aka My Cat’s Verdict)
Back home, it was showtime. I opened the chicken flavor first. It actually smelled pretty decent, not like some of that other canned food that makes you gag. I scooped some into my cat’s bowl and… she sniffed it. For a good minute. My heart sank a little. Then, she took a bite! And another! And another! Success!
- Chicken: Big win! She cleaned the bowl.
- Turkey: Another hit! She seemed to enjoy this one just as much.
- Salmon: Okay, this one was a bit more hesitant. She ate it, but not as enthusiastically as the others. Maybe she’s just not a fishy cat.
The Aftermath (aka Did It Agree With Her?)
This is important, right? You want food that tastes good and is good for your pet. I watched her closely for the next few days. Her energy levels seemed good. She’s always been a playful cat, and that didn’t change. No weird bathroom issues either, thank goodness! Poop looked normal, no diarrhea or anything scary.
My Overall Thoughts
Honestly, I’m pretty impressed with Wellness canned cat food. My cat enjoyed most of the flavors, and it seemed to agree with her system. It’s a bit pricier than some other brands, but seeing her happy and healthy makes it worth it, at least for me. I will defintely buy more flavors for my cat. I think I’ll keep it in her food rotation for sure!
