Alright, so, I’ve got this cat, right? A real cutie, but she’s got this weird habit that’s been driving me nuts. Every night, she starts digging at my blanket like she’s trying to find buried treasure or something. I mean, I love a good cuddle, but this is next-level stuff.
So, naturally, I started observing her, like a detective on a mission. I noticed that it usually happened right before we settled in for the night. She’d jump on the bed, give me a little headbutt (her way of saying, “Hey, pay attention to me!”), and then the digging would commence.
My Investigation Process
- Timing: I made a note of when this digging ritual occurred. Every night, without fail.
- Location: It was always on my side of the bed, specifically where my feet usually were.
- Intensity: Sometimes it was a gentle pawing, other times it was a full-on excavation project.
After a few nights of this, I started to piece things together. I realized that my cat was probably just trying to get comfortable. Maybe she wanted to make a little nest, or perhaps she was trying to fluff up the blanket to her liking.
So, I decided to try a little experiment. I got her a separate, smaller blanket, one that she could call her own. I placed it on the bed, right next to my feet, and waited. And guess what? She took to it immediately! She started digging and kneading on her new blanket, and eventually, she curled up and fell asleep.
Problem solved! It turns out, my cat just wanted her own cozy space on the bed. Now, we both get a good night’s sleep, and I don’t have to worry about my blanket getting shredded. It’s a win-win!
